FESTIVAL RULES
PLACE AND TIME
The Festival will be held in the city of Minsk, Belarus, from July 2 to 6, 2012 by the Belarusian State University and the International University Theatre Association (AITU-IUTA), in the frames of the IX. World Congress of International University Theatre Association (AITU-IUTA).
Participants from outside Minsk are suggested to arrive on July 1, 2012, and depart on July 7, 2012.
PARTICIPANTS
University students, youth organizations, artistic associations and independent groups. However, the Festival gives preference to university theatres.
The number of participants per a theatre group should be preferably 10 persons maximum (when exceeding, the group will be asked to cover meals and accommodation expenses for every extra person).
APPLICATION
- The application deadline is January 15, 2012. Belated applications might not be considered.
- The following compulsory materials should be presented with the application (attached to e-mail or enclosed on CD/DVD):
Full recording of the performance presented to participation in the Festival, even if the organizers have already seen it;
Recent high resolution digital photos of the performance;
The group’s history, containing the most important artistic achievements;
Technical card;
Participation agreement.
SELECTION
Artistic committee appointed by the organizers selects groups for participation in the Festival by presented materials with regard to artistic value of the work.
The selection will be conducted on a rolling basis. Official notification will be sent, via email, within one month of receipt of an application and no later than February 15, 2012.
FINANCIAL CONDITIONS
The organizers cover expenses for accommodation (in student hostels), meals, main cultural and entertaining events, on-arrival/departure transfer and local transportation during the Festival.
Participating theatres pay:
travel expenses to/from Minsk;
visa costs (if necessary);
health insurance (if necessary); and
in case the group consists of more than 10 persons, meals and accommodation expenses in amount of 35 Euro a day per every extra member.
REQUIREMENTS FOR VISITORS
Festival participants must submit no later than April 15, 2012:
passport data in the format: Name, Surname; Sex; Date of Birth; Passport No.; Nationality;
information about arrival and departure: date and time, mode of transportation, etc.
Participants who need a VISA to enter Belarus must make necessary enquiries, prepare all required documentation and inform the organizers well in advance and no later than April 15, 2012! The Festival will arrange visa support and use the passport data you provide to send an official letter to a corresponding Belarusian Consulate.
The Festival representative will meet participants on arrival at the airport, train station or coach station, and accompany them during the visit.
DISCIPLINE OF THE GROUP
The Director and/or Administrator of the group are responsible for the discipline of group members.
Particular attention should be paid to punctuality, good relations with the other groups and with the officials of the festival; to avoidance of excessive alcohol consumption and noise during the night.
The group is responsible for any damage caused by group members, accidental or deliberate, and will cover its cost.
AWARDING
All Festival participants are granted with diplomas and memorable gifts.
The Grand-Prix of the Festival – The Big Koufar – will be traditionally awarded by the results of the audience’s preferential voting.
Competition will not be held.
OFFICIAL LANGUAGES
Official languages of correspondence are Belarusian, English, French, Russian, and Spanish.
